Cerevisia Award 2024 - Theresianer Antica Birreria di Trieste 1766

Theresianer winner of the Excellence Award at the eleventh edition of the Cerevisia Award: Bock is the beer with the highest score

The winners of the eleventh edition of the Cerevisia Award, a national competition that highlights and rewards the best Italian brewing productions, have been announced.
A total of 140 participating labels from all over Italy were submitted to tastings and evaluations by experts.

Theresianer earned the top of the podium with Bock, which received the Excellence Award, achieving the highest score among all participating beers.
This unfiltered, bottom-fermented, dense beer with a deep amber color and a marked malty character convinced the jury by perfectly matching the style from which it takes its name.
This was the note during the award ceremony:
Theresianer Bock has an excellent visual appearance, with a bright coppery color. Its foam is ivory-colored, fine and persistent, creamy and abundant. Its aroma is intense, complex, dominated by malt with notes of hazelnut, raisins, dark honey and a hint of caramel. Complexity and intensity also define its taste, supported by a robust body, making this beer balanced and harmonious, with an excellent aftertaste reminiscent of toasted flavors. The Jury compliments the master brewer for their attention to detail and management of raw materials in the production of a style that is still undervalued in Italy.

Organized by BaNAB (the Italian Beer Tasting Panel), the Cerevisia Award was born in 2013 and stands out for its scientific value, which inspires a rigorous evaluation and selection process, for the competence of the Italian Tasting Jury, as well as for its institutional nature, a guarantee of authority and transparency.

This award demonstrates the care and attention which characterize the work carried out by the Theresianer team: the ongoing research, the quality of the method and the selection of raw materials used are highlighted in unique and distinctive beers, now recognized with a new prestigious award that extends the already impressive prize list of the “smallest Italian beer company”.
